A Boy Called George — A Rola Colas Dub Tribute

What happens when you take the song titles, memories and musical legacy of Boy George and Culture Club and weave them into one original song?

“A Boy Called George” is my Rola Colas take on the phenomenon that was Boy George — a semi-dub, hypnotic club track built around references to his best-known songs, from Karma Chameleon and Church of the Poison Mind to Colour by Numbers and Tumble for Ya.

I’ve woven these titles into my own lyrics, creating a musical journey through the colourful world of the early eighties, with deep dub bass, echoing vocals and that unmistakable British new-wave atmosphere.

This is my creative interpretation, using the titles as lyrical building blocks to tell a story about a boy from London who stood out from the crowd.

One boy. One era. A whole catalogue of memories — lost in the dub.
